Virgin Mobile’s shares jumps Higher

Shares of Virgin Mobile USA Inc. jumped Monday after the wireless carrier posted solid results for the first quarter, with net income up sharply from last year’s profit as expenses declined and revenue inched higher.
The company earned $13.4 million, or 19 cents per share, in net income attributable to Virgin Mobile shareholders, up from a profit of $4.7 million, or 7 cents per share, in the year-earlier period. The 2008 quarter included a $2.3 million loss on an interest rate swap
